What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your browser or device when you visit. They are widely used to make sites work, or work more efficiently, and to provide information to the site owner.

Cookies do not contain your name or any directly identifying information on their own. They typically hold a small piece of data — often an identifier — that helps the site recognise your browser on a return visit.

Syntara uses cookies to keep our site functional, to understand how visitors use our pages, and to remember your preferences when you return.

Cookies We Use

Essential Cookies

Always active

These cookies are required for the website to function correctly. They cannot be switched off. They are typically set in response to actions you take, such as setting your cookie preferences.

  • Cookie consent preference storage
  • Session state management
  • Basic security measures

Duration: Session or up to 12 months

Analytics Cookies

Optional

These help us understand how visitors interact with our site — which pages are visited most, how long people spend on them, and where they navigate from. The data is aggregated and does not identify individuals.

  • Page view and session tracking (Google Analytics)
  • Traffic source analysis
  • Content performance measurement

Duration: Up to 24 months

Marketing Cookies

Optional

These cookies are used to make advertising more relevant to you. They may be set by advertising partners and used to measure the effectiveness of campaigns.

  • Ad performance tracking (Google Ads, Bing Ads)
  • Conversion measurement
  • Retargeting audience building

Duration: Up to 90 days

Preference Cookies

Optional

These remember choices you make — such as your language or region — to provide a more personalised experience on return visits.

  • Language and region settings
  • Display preferences
  • Previously viewed content

Duration: Up to 12 months

Session Cookies

These exist only while your browser is open. They are automatically deleted when you close your browser tab or window. They are used for things like maintaining your state within a single visit.

Persistent Cookies

These remain in your browser for a set period after you close it — typically anywhere from 30 days to 24 months depending on their purpose. Your cookie preferences are stored this way so you do not need to re-set them each visit.
